East Java National Land Agency Office Searched by KPK Amid Bribery Probe

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a search at the Regional Office of the National Land Agency (BPN) in East Java Province on September 24. This forced effort is related to alleged bribery and gratification concerning the management of building use rights (HGB) by PT Summarecon Agung Tbk and land services within the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN). A KPK spokesman confirmed that investigators are actively searching the premises. Details of any findings at the East Java BPN Regional Office will be provided after the operation is completed, as part of the KPK's commitment to transparency in legal processes. The previous day, the KPK also searched the BPN office in Mojokerto City, East Java, seizing envelopes containing money as evidence. The suspects are believed to be parties applying for land services. This search is part of a series of investigations following a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) in mid-September. The KPK has previously searched several related locations. On September 17, the offices of several Directors General within the ATR/BPN Ministry were searched, with investigators seizing suitcases filled with documents and electronic goods. The following day, the office of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk was searched, leading to the seizure of documents related to SHGB (building use rights certificates) and evidence in a land dispute case. Furthermore, the residences of suspects have also been searched. In this case, eight suspects were named following an OTT in the Jabodetabek area on Monday, September 14. The suspects include the Head of the Bogor Regency Land Office, the President Director of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk, the Director General of Land Control and Regulation at the Ministry of ATR/BPN, and several private parties. The case is suspected to involve bribery related to the management of HGB by PT Summarecon Agung Tbk in Bogor Regency, as well as other land-related irregularities. Currently, the eight suspects are being held at the KPK detention center. In addition, approximately Rp106.3 billion in foreign currency notes, found in suitcases and boxes at the residence of one of the suspects, has been seized.
