A large fire broke out at a factory in the Por Senchey district, on the outskirts of Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh, around 10 PM on July 9. The blaze reportedly destroyed nearly all factory materials, causing estimated damages in the tens of thousands of dollars. The fire started at the Dilak International factory located in Chom Chao 1 commune. Following reports from local residents, fire authorities quickly responded to the scene. A total of 30 fire trucks were deployed, including 22 from the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Fire Department, 7 from the 70th Infantry Division, and 1 from Cambodia Beer Company, to bring the fire under control. The fire resulted in the destruction of approximately 250 sewing machines, 90 cartons of leather, one compressor, 60 cans of adhesive, and numerous other fabrics and materials. The flames also spread to the sewing machine warehouse and some fabrics at the adjacent SanTech factory. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
