Vietnam Launches 'New Era CEO' Program for 2026-2030

On July 25, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), in coordination with its partners, launched the 'New Era Vietnamese CEO' program for the 2026-2030 period in Hanoi. This initiative aims to enhance the management capacity and competitiveness of domestic enterprises, thereby meeting the new development requirements of the country. Key focuses of the program include young entrepreneurs setting goals for export market expansion, the role of trade unions in promoting democracy within enterprises, and adapting to international demands such as CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) to retain export markets. Furthermore, the program seeks to build 'sleepless enterprises' that operate 24/7 by leveraging AI. Vietnam, under its one-party system, has achieved rapid economic growth and aims for further development of its export-oriented economy. However, in recent years, while maintaining strong economic ties with China, it faces challenges from geopolitical risks, global supply chain realignments, and stricter environmental regulations. Under these circumstances, strengthening the leadership and strategic thinking of the business executive class, especially the next generation of CEOs, is an urgent task. This program is expected to contribute to Vietnam's sustainable economic growth and enhance its international competitiveness by addressing these challenges.
