Vietnam's University of Finance and Marketing (UFM) has set an ambitious goal to become one of the top 50 higher education institutions in the country by 2030. To achieve this target, the university is progressively strengthening the construction of a modern and smart university model, accelerating digital transformation (DX), scientific research, and international integration. UFM is working to improve the quality of education and enhance international competitiveness by revamping its curriculum and adopting the latest technologies. In particular, its DX initiatives are expected to contribute to the efficiency of educational, research, and administrative operations, leading to improved convenience for students and staff. The university has also announced the establishment of a branch campus in Hue and decided to establish another in Quang Ngai. Through these expansions, UFM aims to broaden educational opportunities within Vietnam and contribute to regional economic development. UFM is pursuing a development model as a multidisciplinary and multi-field university. This aligns with the national strategy of nurturing human resources to meet the diverse needs of Vietnam's future economy. For instance, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Sports and Physical Education is also aiming for multidisciplinary and multi-field development, suggesting a broader shift towards more comprehensive and applied education across Vietnamese higher education institutions. Under Vietnam's one-party system, educational policies are often closely aligned with national development strategies. Enhancing the quality of higher education is crucial for cultivating the human capital that supports economic growth, with the government encouraging the internationalization of universities and the strengthening of research and development capabilities. UFM's goal is consistent with this national direction, and its progress could impact Vietnam's future economic competitiveness. Furthermore, in the context of relations with China, technological innovation and human resource development are prioritized to maintain economic growth, and strengthening university education can be seen as part of this effort.
