India likely to increase acceptance of Myanmar scholarship students

The Indian Ambassador to Myanmar stated that nearly 500 student visas were issued last year and expressed hope to further increase the acceptance of Myanmar scholarship students in the coming years. The Ambassador made these remarks at the 63rd India Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day commemoration ceremony held at the Indian Centre in Yangon on the afternoon of September 15. Currently, the Indian government provides 400 civilian ITEC scholarships and 250 defense-related ITEC scholarships annually. These courses cover various fields such as public administration, law, leadership, security, healthcare, digital technology, English, agriculture, financial management, and other professional sectors, contributing to the emergence of a community of skilled professionals across Myanmar. It is known that the 63rd India Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day commemoration ceremony was attended by the Indian Ambassador to Myanmar, the Minister for Social Affairs of the Yangon Region Government U Bo Thei, the Minister for Urban Development U Myo Mint Aung, officials from the Indian Embassy in Myanmar, representatives from educational institutions, ITEC alumni, and invited guests.
