Cambodia's Ministry of Water Resources Inspects Irrigation Maintenance Progress
Cambodia's Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology inspected the progress of irrigation facility maintenance (Phase 1) for 2026 in three provinces: Oddar Meanchey, Banteay Meanchey, and Pailin. Secretary of State Sut Rasmey praised the efficient work of relevant departments and emphasized the importance of infrastructure upkeep.
Sut Rasmey, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, led an inter-ministerial working group on July 16-17, 2026, to inspect and evaluate the results of the 2026 annual maintenance work (Phase 1) in Oddar Meanchey, Banteay Meanchey, and Pailin provinces. The inspection and evaluation covered 8 irrigation systems in Oddar Meanchey province, 8 irrigation systems in Banteay Meanchey province, and 3 irrigation systems in Pailin province. Secretary of State Sut Rasmey praised the teams from the provincial departments of water resources and the Directorate General of Agricultural Engineering for their effective implementation of Phase 1 maintenance (O&M) work. He emphasized that maintaining irrigation infrastructure is a priority, requiring cooperation from all levels of authorities and educational outreach to citizens to jointly protect these achievements for the promotion of local socio-economic development.
