MGY Region CM laid ruby brick for construction of pagoda

The Ceremony for laying the foundation brick for the construction and enshrinement of the Swe Taw Myat Pagoda (Chauk) at Shwe Thu Htae Kone Ward, Chauk, Magway Region, was held on 12 September at the hilltop where the pagoda will be constructed. The ceremony was attended by the Sangha led by the Sayadaw of Shwetaung Pariyatti Monastery in Yenangyoung, Magway Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko and members of Region Government, departmental officials from the region, district and township levels, respected elders, and local residents. At the ceremony, the Shwetaung Sayadaw enshrined the golden brick, while Magway Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko enshrined the ruby brick foundation and the stone inscription commemorating the construction of the pagoda. Next, Region ministers and officials took their designated positions at the foundation sites in accordance with the traditional days associated with the cardinal directions and enshrined the foundation bricks. Fragrant water was sprinkled and the foundation site of the golden brick was firmly secured with mortar. The Ceremony was then successfully concluded. Afterwards, Magway Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko and officials proceeded to Seikphyu Township, Pakokku District, where they met with township-level departmental officials, township elders, ward and village administrators, and local residents. The Chief Minister explained matters concerning regional security and the rule of law, as well as efforts being undertaken to promote development in education, healthcare, agriculture and livestock breeding. Following the presentations made by the Chairman of the Seikphyu Township Management and Administration Committee and township elders regarding local needs for township development, responsible officials from the relevant Region-level departments responded and discussed the matters sector by sector. The Chief Minister then coordinated with the relevant departments to fulfil the necessary requirements. He also presented cash awards and commendations to Tatmadaw personnel, police members, members of the people's security and counter-terrorism forces, and staff of the Township General Administration Department who are performing duties for regional peace, stability and security. Next, the Chief Minister and officials inspected the construction site of the Township Departmental Offices Complex, which is being implemented in Seikphyu Township during the 2026–2027 financial year. They then visited the Seikphyu Township Women's Domestic Vocational Training School, where they met with the school principal and instructors, discussed matters concerning the training school, inquired about the needs of the school, and gave words of encouragement. Cash awards and commendations were also presented to the staff.
