Cambodia Discusses Investment Opportunities with China's Yuanda Group in Education, Agriculture, and Digital Sectors
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet met with Zheng Mingzhou, Chairman of China's Yuanda Group, on July 15. The discussion focused on Yuanda Group's interest in investing in Cambodia's education, agriculture, and digital technology sectors, with the Prime Minister encouraging concrete cooperation. He emphasized these areas as government priorities.
AKP Phnom Penh, July 16, 2026 – Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Mahabaworathipati Hun Manet, on the afternoon of July 15, 2026, granted a courtesy call and working discussion to Mr. Zheng Mingzhou, Chairman of Yuanda Group. This meeting took place during Mr. Zheng's working visit and participation in the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in the People's Republic of China from July 15-17, 2026. During the meeting, the Chairman of Yuanda Group respectfully briefed Samdech Thipati on the company's business operations. He highlighted the company's long-term partnerships with government agencies, state-owned enterprises, and various universities, both within China and abroad. Currently, the company is focusing its attention on investments in key sectors, including education, agriculture, manufacturing, and digital technology. Mr. Zheng further emphasized that, observing Cambodia's rapid development potential, the company is interested in seeking investment opportunities within Cambodia in the education, agriculture, and digital technology sectors. In response, Samdech Thipati expressed his welcome to the company's interest in seeking investment opportunities in Cambodia's potential sectors. Samdech Thipati also underscored that these three sectors—education, agriculture, and technology—are priority sectors to which the government consistently pays high attention and has put in place various policies and necessary mechanisms to support the further growth of these sectors. Samdech Thipati encouraged the company to organize a direct working visit to Cambodia and to continue building relationships and conducting detailed working discussions with relevant ministries and institutions to identify and seize concrete investment opportunities in Cambodia.
