Cambodia Holds Progress Meeting for Agricultural Irrigation Improvement Project Funded by ADB

Cambodia's Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology convened a kick-off meeting on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the ministry's headquarters to review the progress of the Agricultural Irrigation Improvement Project (IAIP), which is being implemented with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The meeting was attended by a mission team from the ADB, representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, project technical advisors, and officials from the Departments of Water Resources and Meteorology in the targeted provinces. Secretary of State Chan Sinath stated that the ADB mission's objective is to assess the project's implementation progress from its inception to the present, with a particular focus on identifying strengths, weaknesses, and solutions to accelerate work in accordance with the agreed-upon plan. Secretary of State Sinath expressed his profound gratitude to the ADB for its long-standing partnership and support for the development of Cambodia's water resources and meteorology sector. The project is expected to contribute to enhancing agricultural productivity and strengthening climate change adaptation capacity in Cambodia.
