30% of Filipinos believe they can fight corruption, SWS survey finds
A recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey reveals that 30% of Filipinos believe they can contribute to reducing government corruption. However, a significant 52% feel powerless, highlighting a disparity in public perception and engagement with the issue.
MANILA, Philippines — Thirty percent of Filipinos disagree with the statement, “A person like me cannot do anything to reduce corruption in the government,” according to the latest survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS). The second quarter 2026 SWS survey, released on Thursday evening, also showed that 52 percent agreed that they are unable to do anything to reduce corruption in the government. This means that 30 percent of Filipinos believe they can do something to reduce corruption in the government, while 52 percent believe they cannot do anything to reduce corruption in the government. The remaining 18 percent did not answer or were undecided. The survey was conducted from June 1 to June 14, 2026, with a sample size of 1,200 adults nationwide.
