Cambodia and South Korea Strengthen Cooperation on Early Childhood Education Project

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia has discussed a project aimed at enhancing the quality of early childhood education and developing human resources with a South Korean delegation. On the afternoon of July 3rd, Acting Minister Dr. Kim Sethany met with a delegation from the Republic of Korea, led by Dr. Chae Jin-Young, Professor and Director of the Department of Early Childhood Education at Busan National University. The discussion focused on strengthening the capacity and improving the quality of professional training in early childhood education, care, protection, and development in Cambodia. This initiative aims to meet the country's human resource development needs and enhance the quality of early childhood education services. Acting Minister Dr. Kim expressed her deep gratitude to the government of the Republic of Korea and the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education for their support through digital technology projects and training provided to technical officials and teachers. She also voiced her support for the Korean side's initiative to organize a project for the promotion of early childhood education in Cambodia, which demonstrates the further strengthening of bilateral relations between Cambodia and the Republic of Korea. The project will contribute to the development of training institutions and enhance the qualifications of teachers, as well as their expertise in child care, protection, and development, aligning with the Royal Government of Cambodia's policy priorities. Acting Minister Dr. Kim instructed the Department of Early Childhood Education, the Phnom Penh National Teacher Training College, and the Central Kindergarten Teacher Training School to cooperate closely with the Korean delegation to ensure the successful preparation and implementation of this project.
