Dong Nai Province Focuses on Solutions to Achieve 10% Growth Target
Dong Nai Province, Vietnam, has directed specific measures to achieve its annual 10% growth target during a mid-year socio-economic review meeting. The focus is on promoting investment, infrastructure development, and the digital economy.
Dong Nai Province, located in southeastern Vietnam, is set to implement robust measures to achieve its target of 10% economic growth for 2026. During a meeting on the socio-economic situation in the first half of the year, held on July 13, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut directed all departments and local authorities to rigorously pursue solutions for goal attainment. The province aims to fulfill all its 2026 objectives, driven by the resolutions of the Provincial Party Congress, the action plan of the Provincial People's Committee, and a 500-day special emulation campaign themed "Unity - Discipline - Efficiency - Breakthrough." Emphasis was placed on accelerating the disbursement of public investment, linking its progress to the responsibility of heads of departments. Swift resolution of issues related to land acquisition, infrastructure development, and construction materials, along with the definitive completion of delayed projects, is a priority. Furthermore, comprehensive implementation of state budget revenue enhancement measures, prevention of tax evasion, strict handling of tax arrears, effective utilization of revenue sources from land, import-export activities, and business tax registration transfers, as well as accelerating land use rights auctions, were identified as critical tasks. Additionally, the province plans to strengthen investment attraction in high-tech industries, supporting industries, logistics, and high-quality commercial and service sectors. It will also promote the development of the digital economy, innovation, and digital transformation to create new growth engines. The progress of strategic infrastructure projects related to Long Thanh Airport and regional connectivity projects will also be expedited. In the first half of 2026, Dong Nai Province recorded a Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth rate of 9.81%. The industrial and construction sector continued to be the main driver with an 11.84% increase, while the service sector grew by 8.57%, and agriculture, forestry, and fisheries by 4.86%. Foreign direct investment (FDI) reached $1.5 billion, and domestic investment exceeded VND 852 trillion. State budget revenue as of July 9 surpassed VND 57.4 trillion, achieving 57% of the allocated estimate. Public investment disbursement as of July 6 reached 41.8% of the plan, exceeding the national average. During the conference, representatives from the Provincial People's Council, various departments, and city/district levels discussed numerous issues related to socio-economic development, particularly focusing on solutions to facilitate land acquisition and public investment disbursement. Participants proposed that to contribute to achieving the double-digit economic growth target, the province must continue to unlock resources, accelerate the disbursement of investment for key projects, effectively manage land acquisition, and concentrate on supporting businesses in the second half of the year.
