Cambodia Enhances Regulatory Impact Assessment Training

On the morning of September 1, 2026, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, presided over by H.E. Peng Ponea, Minister, inaugurated a training course on Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA). The training saw the participation of representatives from the Economic, Social, and Cultural Council of the Council of Ministers, as well as leaders and relevant officials from the Ministry. The primary objective of this training is to strengthen and enhance the capacity of the working group responsible for assessing the impact of legal normative documents and specialized officials. This will enable them to acquire knowledge, experience, and new methodologies to fulfill their roles, ensuring that all legal normative documents prepared by the Ministry are transparent, accountable, and serve the highest public interest, in line with the direction and leadership of the government. Furthermore, the training aims to foster a culture of meticulous analysis of regulations based on data and evidence that can be collected and compiled from ministries and relevant stakeholders.
