6 Rescued After Landslide Blocks Ilocos Sur Road

Six individuals were rescued in Salcedo town, Ilocos Sur, after a landslide triggered by heavy rains and thunderstorms blocked the Balidbid–Bulala-Leguey Road. Local disaster officials reported Sunday that the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Salcedo received a report of several individuals stranded along the road due to the blockage. The landslide occurred following intense weather conditions, leading to the road's impassability. Rescue operations were promptly initiated, and all six stranded individuals were successfully extricated. Authorities are currently working on clearing the road to restore traffic flow.
