Cambodia's Royal University of Law and Economics Plays Key Role in Human Resource Development, Graduates Exceed 74,000

The Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) in Cambodia is playing a vital role in the country's socio-economic development by cultivating human resources in law, public administration, economics, and other fields. This was highlighted by H.E. San Vaddhana, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, during the graduation ceremony for 4,001 Bachelor's and Master's degree recipients and the symbolic inauguration of a new 6-story academic building of the university, held at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center in Phnom Penh on the morning of August 6, 2026. The event was presided over by H.E. Dr. Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. According to H.E. San Vaddhana, from 1982 to the present, a total of 74,337 trainees and students have successfully completed their studies, including 268 foreign students. These graduates are capably serving in ministries, government institutions, the private sector, and national and international NGOs with competence, dignity, and honor, while others are running their own businesses. Currently, the university has a total of 873 staff members, including the Board of Directors, management, officials, national and international faculty, and contract staff. It is educating a total of 20,016 students, of whom 93 are foreign students from various countries such as France, Laos, Spain, Guatemala, Korea, China, Vietnam, and Haiti. H.E. San Vaddhana affirmed that to ensure high-quality and sustainable education, the university has implemented educational quality assurance mechanisms, particularly strengthening the education quality assessment system in line with quality assurance standards for higher education institutions. Furthermore, the university is cooperating with universities in several countries through 45 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to exchange experiences among students, officials, and professors in studies, teaching, research, and various training programs, aiming to further enhance the quality of education.
