On August 8, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang presided over a meeting to address difficulties and obstacles in the tax and customs sectors. The meeting involved relevant ministries, localities, and enterprises to identify practical issues and explore solutions. In the tax sector, guidance was provided on the application of temporary exit suspension measures according to new regulations. The importance of the role of accounting and auditing firms in fostering a tax compliance culture was also emphasized. Vietnam is developing a framework for information exchange for tax purposes and is advancing international cooperation. In the customs sector, efforts are being made to promote reforms and enhance management efficiency. Strengthening international cooperation in customs, especially in the current context, is a key focus. These initiatives are part of Vietnam's economic growth strategy under its one-party system, aiming to enhance transparency and efficiency, particularly in attracting foreign investment and nurturing domestic industries. Amidst complex relations with China, strengthening the domestic economic base is a pressing issue for Vietnam, and the facilitation of tax and customs sectors is expected to contribute to supply chain stability and trade facilitation.
