Korean Agricultural Machinery Firm Expresses Interest in Developing Cambodia's Agriculture Sector

On the morning of September 22, 2026, Cambodian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Mr. Khuon Ponreak, held a courtesy and working meeting with Mr. Hwang Kyungjoo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hansung TNI, at the Cambodian Embassy in Seoul. During the meeting, Mr. Hwang Kyungjoo informed the Ambassador that he is aware Cambodia is an agricultural country and expressed his desire to contribute to the development of Cambodia's agricultural sector, starting in areas with agricultural potential. In response, Mr. Khuon Ponreak expressed his support for the company's willingness to cooperate and for the development of a model agricultural area project in Cambodia. He stated that the agricultural sector is one of the main sectors contributing to Cambodia's national economic development. Simultaneously, the Ambassador suggested that the company consider selecting a commune or district in Battambang Province, a region with significant agricultural potential in Cambodia. In this regard, he invited the company's representatives to visit Cambodia to understand the potential and actual conditions in agricultural areas, with the Cambodian Embassy in the Republic of Korea ready to facilitate coordination with relevant ministries and institutions to promote this cooperation. Hansung TNI was established in 1981 and is a Korean agricultural machinery manufacturer that produces and supplies machinery for agricultural processes from planting to harvesting. Hansung TNI is the first Korean company to develop an air-driven sprayer capable of spraying at high speeds and over long distances of up to 150 meters.
