Cambodian Red Cross Chapter in Kandal Province Conducts Awareness Campaign on Maternal, Child, and Reproductive Health
The Cambodian Red Cross Kandal Provincial Branch conducted an awareness campaign on reproductive and maternal and child health for 52 impoverished individuals, including pregnant women, women of reproductive age, and mothers with children under two, in Setbo Commune, Ta Khmau City, Kandal Province. The Cambodian Red Cross Kandal Provincial Branch conducted an awareness campaign on the importance of reproductive health and maternal and child health on July 15, 2026, in Setbo Commune, Ta Khmau City, Kandal Province. A total of 52 participants, comprising 10 extremely impoverished pregnant women, 8 women of reproductive age, and 34 mothers with children under two years old from four villages in Setbo Commune, attended the event. The activity was presided over by Ms. Srun Sreynang, a member of the Provincial Branch and Deputy Governor of Kandal Province, and was held within the premises of the Setbo Health Center. Ms. Sreynang stated that the objective of this educational and awareness program is to enhance understanding of reproductive health knowledge, care for women during pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, and postpartum periods, as well as the care of children under two years old, including the provision of nutritional supplements and regular vaccinations according to medical advice to prevent various diseases. She urged the participants to pay close attention and continue to implement preventive measures against all diseases for the happiness and good health of their families, and to avoid dangers arising from negligence or unforeseen circumstances. Furthermore, Ms. Sreynang advised all citizens to be extremely cautious during the rainy season, especially regarding small children and playing near or in water to prevent drowning. She also emphasized the importance of monitoring health due to the ongoing spread of dengue fever, urging anyone with suspected symptoms to seek timely medical treatment at the hospital rather than treating at home, as delaying treatment for dengue fever can be life-threatening. During the awareness event, the Cambodian Red Cross Kandal Provincial Branch also provided support materials to the 52 impoverished individuals.
