MANILA, Philippines — Parts of the Northern Luzon Expressway (NLEx), particularly in San Simon, Pampanga, remain flooded on Friday, September 4. In an advisory on the road and traffic conditions on the expressway at 7 a.m., the NLEx Corporation said water build-up was still present on all northbound and southbound lanes at the San Simon. The flooding situation on this crucial artery, vital for logistics and daily commutes, is causing traffic disruptions and necessitating detours. The Philippines frequently experiences flooding during the rainy season, with infrastructure often bearing the brunt of the impact. Disruptions on major expressways like NLEx can directly lead to economic slowdowns and delays in the transport of goods, highlighting the urgent need for swift restoration efforts.
