Vietnam is set to participate as a Partner Country in the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2026, marking a significant step in strengthening economic ties with India. The GTTCI expert noted that alongside logistics and integrated warehousing, e-commerce is expected to be a particularly high-growth sector in the coming years. He described it as a multi-billion-dollar market with significant untapped opportunities for cooperation between Vietnam and India. Vietnam's agricultural sector is also poised for growth, with initiatives like Phu Quoc island's "One Commune, One Product" (OCOP) program transforming local specialties into internationally recognized goods, fostering sustainable economic development by integrating local agriculture, food processing, and tourism. Vietnam's wood sector continues to be a major foreign currency earner, with exports of wood and wooden products nearing $17.3 billion in 2025, reaching over 160 countries and territories and meeting stringent standards set by the US, EU, and Japan. This highlights the competitiveness of Vietnam's manufacturing industry. In line with its clean energy strategy, Vietnam is advancing multiple wind power projects simultaneously in Ha Tinh province. Furthermore, the development of a major port complex is expected to handle approximately 274 million tonnes of cargo annually, generate about $12.57 billion in industrial output, and create around 267,400 jobs, bolstering the nation's logistics and industrial capabilities. Under its one-party system, Vietnam prioritizes economic growth and improved living standards. Active participation in international trade events like this underscores its strategy for economic diversification and expanded market access.
