Thai Interior Minister Orders Deportation of Israeli National Convicted of Threats
Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on September 5 signed an order to deport an Israeli national, Yaacov Ohayon, who was convicted of making threats. The Koh Samui Provincial Court found the defendant guilty of sending threatening messages that caused fear and alarm to the victim. Ohayon received a 15-day suspended jail sentence and a 5,000 baht fine, with the suspension lasting two years, but the deportation order was issued separately.
