Cambodia's Ministry of Inspection Reviews Governance Reform Progress
Cambodia's Ministry of Inspection held a committee meeting to review progress on governance reforms, including legal, public administration, and financial management. Minister Sok Sokhan emphasized the importance of these reforms and urged continued efforts from all stakeholders.
On July 29, 2026, the Ministry of Inspection, led by Minister Sok Sokhan, convened a meeting of the Committee for the Promotion of Governance. The meeting aimed to monitor and evaluate the progress of the committee's work within the ministry, with the participation of numerous leaders and relevant officials. Following the agenda, the Permanent Secretary of State and leaders heading the working groups for legal reform, public administration reform, and public financial management reform of the Committee for the Promotion of Governance reported on significant work progress and challenges. Relevant leaders actively exchanged views and provided crucial input to strengthen the efforts to promote governance within the Ministry of Inspection. Minister Sok Sokhan expressed gratitude and high appreciation to all leaders and officials who have diligently fulfilled their duties as stipulated in the directive on the establishment of the Committee for the Promotion of Governance. He noted that this committee serves as a mechanism to lead, support, coordinate, and drive the implementation of reform work to enhance the ministry's governance, in line with the government's directives. The minister also recalled that significant reform work has been considered and actively promoted across previous government mandates and continues into the current 7th mandate of the National Assembly. Furthermore, the minister provided important recommendations to the leaders and officials, urging them to continue diligently performing their roles and responsibilities as defined by existing legal norms and in pace with the government's key reforms. He emphasized the ongoing effort to prepare the ministry's legal norms and readiness for their full implementation, underscoring the ministry's role as the leading and managing institution for inspection in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
