French National Denied Entry to Thailand, Returned to Cambodia

A French national residing in Cambodia has publicly stated on social media that he and his daughter were denied entry into Thailand by immigration authorities and were subsequently sent back to Cambodia. The individual, using the social media account JI WI, detailed the incident to raise public awareness. According to JI WI's account, the incident occurred when he was accompanying his daughter to catch a flight after her visit to Cambodia. His daughter was scheduled to travel alone from Bangkok to France under the 'Unaccompanied Minor' service but was reportedly not allowed to board the plane. JI WI further stated that he and his daughter were forced to stay in the Thai immigration office for six hours, describing the environment as "like a prison" without any reasonable explanation provided. As a French citizen who respects and loves Cambodia, where he currently lives, the only reason repeatedly given by Thai authorities was: "If you love Cambodia, you should stay there." In response to this incident, the French national expressed his anger and declared a severance of ties, stating he would never return to Thailand and would not spend even a cent on products or within the country again. He directly criticized the authorities for lacking compassion, being full of hatred, and unable to show mercy even to a child, using strong words against the Thai authorities. Following the widespread sharing and support on Facebook, the account owner later confirmed in the comments section that he and his 12-year-old daughter had finally returned safely to Cambodia after being detained for up to 24 hours at an immigration center in Thailand. JI WI also expressed his joy and appreciation for the warm welcome he received from Cambodian officials upon his arrival in Cambodia, noting their friendliness, smiles, and kindness. He also regrettably pointed out that the incident he and his daughter experienced was not the first time such a situation had occurred.
