The ceremony, held on July 15, 2026, at the provincial administrative building, focused on remains discovered within the province during the dry season of 2025-2026. Dr. Touch Poliva, Deputy Governor of Kampong Speu Province and Chairman of the Commission for Excavation and Repatriation, received and handed over the remains. Dr. Poliva expressed profound gratitude to the Vietnamese government and people, particularly Unit K93, for their diligent efforts in locating and collecting the remains of Vietnamese soldiers and experts who lost their lives on Cambodian soil during the war. He emphasized that this valuable activity clearly demonstrates the deep and sincere friendship between the peoples of Cambodia and Vietnam, serving as a historical remembrance of the significant contributions made by Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in rescuing the Cambodian people from the suffering of war and in rebuilding the nation. Mr. Le Van Phuoc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ang Giang Province, expressed his thanks to the Kampong Speu provincial authorities for their cooperation in the search and repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts. However, he noted that a number of remains have yet to be found, facing numerous challenges.
