Bali Tests Indonesia's Military Readiness for Quakes, Tsunamis

Indonesia has conducted a military readiness exercise in Bali, simulating responses to major natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis. This exercise is part of a crucial initiative to enhance the nation's disaster preparedness capabilities. The drills focused on assessing the military's ability to rapidly deploy and execute a range of tasks, including rescue operations, medical assistance, and the evacuation of displaced populations, based on simulated disaster scenarios. Particular emphasis was placed on coordination and swift decision-making amidst challenging conditions, such as damaged infrastructure and communication network disruptions. Located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, Indonesia is consistently at high risk of earthquakes, volcanic activity, and tsunamis.
