On July 11, the Ho Chi Minh City Police detained Chuong A Sam, Nguyen Tran Minh Trung, Do Minh Hung, Le Cao Thinh, Nguyen Thanh Thiep, and Vo Ngoc Lanh for investigation into the crime of Causing Environmental Pollution. Previously, the Economic Police Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Police, in coordination with the Tan Vinh Loc Commune Police, inspected a plot of land in Hamlet 60, Tan Vinh Loc commune. They caught a dump truck in the act of unloading a mixture of construction waste, including concrete, bricks, glass, broken tiles, soil, rocks, and household garbage, onto the land. Trung then assigned one group to find sources of construction waste and organize transportation, while another group directly collected waste from construction sites and residential properties undergoing repair or demolition within Ho Chi Minh City to dump on Sam's land. Initial expert assessments confirmed that nearly 800 tons of construction solid waste had been illegally dumped. The Ho Chi Minh City Police are expanding their investigation to clarify the roles of involved individuals and will handle the case according to the law.
