Strong winds damage roofs of houses and cause trees to fall in Mon State

It has been learned from local residents that strong winds have caused damage to the roofs of several houses and led to fallen trees in Set Cha E village, Thongbya Township, Mon State. According to a local resident, around 6 AM today, strong winds swept through the village, causing damage to the roofs of approximately five houses and resulting in fallen trees. The resident further stated, "It was windy and rainy from early morning. Trees fell, and branches were scattered. The roofs of houses were also blown away." There were no casualties from the strong winds, and the cleanup efforts were carried out jointly by firefighters from the Thongbya Township Fire Services Department, relevant authorities, and local residents. Similarly, on July 13th, around 2:30 PM, strong winds caused trees to fall in the Nyaung Pin Seik ward of Mawlamyine city, leading to road blockages. The fallen trees were cleared by firefighters from the Nyaung Pin Seik Township Fire Station, social welfare rescue teams, and local residents. Furthermore, on the night of July 10th, a tornado struck Thongbya town in Mon State, causing five houses to be completely destroyed and 87 houses to be partially damaged in the Aung Ze Ya and Aung Kuthar wards. Two Buddhist monasteries and one nunnery were also damaged, affecting 426 people. Local residents reported that the tornado also damaged religious buildings, as well as causing trees, utility poles, and communication towers to break or fall.
