Clogged Ilocos Sur River Nears Overflow Amid Heavy Rains

In Santo Domingo town, Ilocos Sur, the Quimmarayan River is on the verge of overflowing due to debris under the Nambaran Bridge, exacerbated by heavy rains. As of 3 p.m. Saturday, the river's water level had risen close to overflowing, according to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO). A declogging team from the municipality has been dispatched to clear the debris and prevent further water level rise.
