Cambodia Launches Business Plan Competition to Foster Young Entrepreneurs

The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport of Cambodia has launched a training course for the "My Business" business plan competition in Battambang province, aimed at fostering young entrepreneurs. The program, set for the 2026 competition, commenced on July 22, 2026. The training gathered 90 youths from 15 provinces, along with guiding officials from the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport, 15 mentor entrepreneurs, and facilitators. At the opening ceremony, Deputy Secretary of State Vong Phearon of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport lauded the leadership and officials of the General Directorate of Youth, the Department of Youth Program Development, and provincial education departments, as well as collaborating partners, for their diligent efforts and high sense of responsibility in organizing this business plan competition. The "My Business" program aims to support youths with dreams and passion for entrepreneurship, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset and skills. This includes training in business plan writing, practical site visits and implementation at businesses or companies, showcasing capabilities through participation in two competition rounds, promoting social and environmental responsibility among youth, and developing soft skills, life skills, innovation, information technology, and public speaking. It also provides opportunities for participants to demonstrate their potential and build networks with entrepreneurs, mentors, and influential figures, while encouraging the creation of prototype products.
