Thailand-China High-Speed Rail Project: Phase 2 Bidding Set for December

The Thai Ministry of Transport has decided to commence bidding procedures for Phase 2 of the Thailand-China High-Speed Rail Project this December. This phase is expected to involve a total investment of approximately 237 billion baht, with the project divided into eight separate contracts. Meanwhile, Phase 1 of the project is being developed with a target opening year of 2030. Additionally, a section of Phase 1, specifically segment 4-1 (connecting Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok to Bangkok Station), has been approved for construction by Thailand independently. This high-speed rail project is envisioned as a major cross-border infrastructure initiative connecting Thailand and China, aiming to boost logistics and passenger movement within the Southeast Asian region.
