Amata City Laos Partners with PTT (Laos) to Study EV Truck Park Development, Boosting Green Logistics for Thai-Lao-Chinese Trade

Amata City Laos, the Laotian subsidiary of Thailand's leading industrial estate developer Amata Corporation, has initiated a joint study with PTT (Laos) to explore the feasibility of developing an electric vehicle (EV) truck park. This initiative aims to strengthen green logistics networks to support trade between Thailand, Laos, and China. Amata Corporation has a track record of developing and managing numerous industrial estates within Thailand, playing a crucial role as a manufacturing hub in the Southeast Asian region. The PTT Group, a major energy conglomerate based in Thailand, also operates in Laos. The collaboration between these two entities is expected to enhance the efficiency of cross-border logistics and reduce environmental impact. Specifically, the study is likely to focus on developing charging infrastructure for EV trucks and strengthening the functions of the logistics hub. This aims to reduce CO2 emissions and build a more sustainable supply chain for freight transportation along routes connecting Thailand to Laos and China, and vice versa. This EV truck park concept has the potential to contribute to the modernization of the entire regional logistics network, aligning with the Thai government's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) initiative. For Laos, it presents an opportunity to overcome its landlocked geographical constraints and enhance its competitiveness in international trade.
