Social protection is a fundamental pillar of the state, says Vice President

The social protection system is a fundamental pillar of national development, said Vice President Duu Nan Ni Ni Aye. She made this statement on July 10 at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement in Nay Pyi Taw, during the meeting of the National Committee on Social Protection, where she also serves as the committee chairman. It is said that the social protection system is an important sector that contributes not only to ensuring the security of people's lives, reducing poverty, and developing human resources, but also to the national economy and society. According to Vice President Duu Nan Ni Ni Aye, social protection is a process that the state government must systematically formulate and implement through policies, procedures, plans, and systems to prevent individuals and households from being exposed to risks in economic and social sectors, to promote economic opportunities including basic services and infrastructure, and to address humanitarian difficulties and crises arising from sudden income losses and emergencies. It is said that social protection activities are activities that the government must carry out, and they are also activities that bring real direct benefits to the public. Vice President Duu Nan Ni Ni Aye stated that Myanmar's national-level social protection strategic plan includes eight key action plans, and the strategic plan is being implemented in four main areas of social protection.
