7 Impoverished Veteran Families in Cambodia Receive Humanitarian Aid from Prime Minister and Wife

Prey Veng Province, Cambodia – September 2, 2026 – On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, Colonel Nou Samol, Secretary-General of the Cambodian Veterans and Discharged Soldiers Association of Prey Veng Province, led a working group and local authorities to visit seven veteran families in Poipet District, Prey Veng Province. These families have received housing as a donation from Prime Minister Hun Sen and Madam Dr. Bun Romny. Colonel Nou Samol conveyed the regards and deep concern of Mr. Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Veterans and Discharged Soldiers Association. "We will never forget our veterans. I have instructed the heads of the association in all provinces to pay close attention to the well-being of our veterans. They are our elders who have sacrificed their physical and mental strength, their flesh and blood, to protect the nation and bring peace to Cambodia," he stated. The seven veteran families expressed their profound gratitude to Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Madam Dr. Pich Chanmony, and especially to Mr. Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Veterans and Discharged Soldiers Association. They also thanked HE Mang Sineth, Governor of Prey Veng Province and President of the Provincial Association Committee, as well as Colonel Nou Samol, Secretary-General of the Provincial Association, and all levels of local authorities for their valuable time in visiting, offering condolences, and delivering humanitarian aid directly to their homes. This humanitarian assistance and encouragement is a noble gesture that helps alleviate the difficulties of the veteran families and demonstrates that they are not being abandoned. During the occasion, the working group distributed humanitarian aid, including food and cash, donated by Prime Minister Hun Manet and Madam Dr. Each family received 50kg of rice, one box of instant noodles, one case of mineral water, one string of fish sauce, and 2kg of dried fish.
