Cambodia Recognizes 91 Enterprises for Fostering Peaceful Workplaces

The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has been promoting the improvement of working conditions in enterprises and factories under the slogan "Peaceful Enterprise, Peaceful Community" during the three-year term of the 7th legislature of the government. As part of this initiative, a total of 91 enterprises, companies, and factories in the textile, garment, footwear, and travel goods and bags sectors have received the "Peaceful Enterprise, Peaceful Community" award. Among these, 49 enterprises received gold awards, 23 received silver awards, and 19 received bronze awards. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training stated that the award is not merely a commendation for enterprises with good compliance but also serves to encourage all enterprises to continue strengthening the implementation of labor laws, improving working conditions, and creating a safe, peaceful, and highly productive work environment. The ministry emphasizes that a peaceful work environment and good professional relations not only benefit employees but also contribute to strengthening production stability, reducing labor disputes, and enhancing the confidence of employers and investors. This "Peaceful Enterprise, Peaceful Community" campaign originated from the recommendations of former Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen and is being continuously promoted by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet. During his meetings with workers in 2023, the Prime Minister encouraged business owners to continue paying attention to the implementation of labor laws, improving working conditions, the well-being of employees, and strengthening professional relations to foster a harmonious, peaceful, and highly productive work environment. The campaign was officially launched in 2025 through the organization of the "Peaceful Enterprise, Peaceful Community" award selection for the textile, garment, footwear, and travel goods and bags sectors, based on eight criteria. Concurrently, the government has designated May 1st as the annual award ceremony date to further encourage enterprises that perform well and to urge other enterprises, companies, and factories to improve their labor law compliance, working conditions, and professional relations. Over the three years of the 7th legislature of the government led by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, the number of enterprises and factories registered with the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has increased from approximately 40,300 to 47,758, an increase of 7,458 enterprises, or about 18.5 percent.
