Quang Tri Province Expands Search for Martyrs' Remains in Con Tien

In Quang Tri Province, central Vietnam, the provincial Steering Committee for Searching, Collecting, and Identifying the Remains of Martyrs organized a consultation on September 9th to verify and conclude information regarding martyrs and their graves in the Con Tien area of Con Tien Commune. This consultation aims to meticulously examine and finalize information related to the discovered remains of fallen soldiers in the region. Quang Tri Province, a site of intense fighting during the Vietnam War, still has numerous martyrs whose remains are yet to be found. The province has intensified its efforts in collecting remains in recent years, with concentrated searches being conducted in the Con Tien area. Past operations have led to the discovery and collection of three martyrs' remains in the Con Tien region, and two more in Bai Dinh village. Furthermore, advancements in DNA identification technology have enabled the repatriation of remains of martyrs who died over 54 years ago to their hometowns, facilitating accurate identification and handover to their families. Nhan Dan, the official newspaper of the Communist Party of Vietnam, reports on these activities as part of the nation's commitment to fulfilling its historical responsibilities and strengthening national unity.
