Kampong Chhnang Province Flooded Due to Heavy Rains

Kampong Chhnang Province: Due to heavy rainfall, some parts of the grounds of Chanth Paochoutnaram Pagoda, also known as Wat Ta Sut, located in Pateang village, Krang Leav commune, Roleab Ear district, Kampong Chhnang province, and several roads outside the pagoda's premises have been inundated. On September 24th, Mr. Seng Vichith, Governor of Roleab Ear district, along with the head of the Department of Rural Development and their working team, inspected the flood situation at Wat Ta Sut. The inspection confirmed that the floodwaters had submerged paved roads, tiled pathways, animal husbandry areas, and many other locations within the pagoda's compound. Outside the pagoda, along the paved road in Pateang village, some areas were also partially flooded. Mr. Seng Vichith appealed to the public to be vigilant as the floodwaters continue to rise. He urged parents to prevent their young children from playing in the water to avoid drowning and to cooperate with the commune and village authorities who are diligently working to drain the water from the pagoda and the village. It is recalled that in the past, the grounds of Chanth Paochoutnaram Pagoda have been divided by a stream running through its center. Consequently, whenever there were heavy rains, the water would flood the pagoda grounds. Even after development, some low-lying areas within the pagoda still experience flooding.
