PAL Bolsters Long-Haul Fleet with Fourth Airbus A350-1000

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is strengthening its long-haul fleet with the addition of its fourth Airbus A350-1000. The new aircraft, which arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Sept. 2, reinforces PAL’s commitment to providing customers with a world-class travel experience. It is the fourth of nine Airbus A350-1000 aircraft PAL ordered in 2023 as part of its ongoing fleet modernization and international growth strategy. PAL remains the first and only carrier in Southeast Asia to operate the Airbus A350-1000, which serves key international markets such as San Francisco, New York and Toronto. The airline said the A350-1000 supports its mission of connecting the Philippines to the world with world-class service and Filipino hospitality. As PAL’s flagship aircraft for long-haul operations, the A350-1000 is configured in a 382-seat, three-class layout featuring private business class suites with sliding privacy doors, a dedicated premium economy cabin and an enhanced economy class product designed to deliver greater comfort on long-haul journeys. The aircraft likewise offers improved fuel efficiency, lower carbon emissions and enhanced operational performance compared with previous-generation aircraft. PAL continues to invest in its future fleet, signing memoranda of understanding during the Farnborough International Airshow in June for nine additional Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, with purchase rights for five more, and 15 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, with options for five additional aircraft, for delivery through 2036. PAL said these commitments underscore its confidence in the long-term growth of air travel and its commitment to maintaining one of the region’s most modern and efficient fleets. As the country’s only full-service network airline, PAL operates scheduled nonstop flights from its hubs in Manila and Cebu to 29 destinations across the Philippines and 40 destinations in Asia, North America, Australia and the Middle East.
