Ubon Ratchathani Province Flooded, Over 500 Rai of Rice Fields Submerged

A major flood has occurred in Warin Chamrap District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, in northeastern Thailand, with extensive rice fields affected. According to reports from the local media MGR Online (Regional), the submerged rice fields cover approximately 500 rai (about 80 hectares). This region is one of Thailand's major rice-producing areas, and the current flood is feared to be a severe blow to farmers. The local agricultural department is currently conducting a rapid damage assessment to grasp the full extent of the disaster. Simultaneously, initial support measures for affected farmers are reportedly being considered and implemented. Thailand frequently experiences river overflows and localized heavy rainfall leading to floods during the rainy season.
