The "Farmer AI" application, which can provide the necessary information for farmers' crops, is being developed, said Union Minister U Min Naung of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation. Union Minister U Min Naung made these remarks in a special interview program with state-owned media regarding the development of the agriculture and livestock sector. He stated that when photos of plant diseases and pests, or photos of diseased leaves, are uploaded to the application, the "Farmer AI" application will display information on what diseases are affecting the crops and how to prevent and control them, providing practical advice for farmers. It is understood that the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications are collaborating to develop the "Farmer AI" application. Union Minister U Min Naung mentioned in the special interview program that although efforts are being made to transition from traditional farming methods to modern agricultural techniques in Myanmar, it will still take some time. He also noted that digital systems are currently being adopted in public services, some educational activities, and market information dissemination. According to the Union Minister, initiatives are underway to allow farmers free access to information such as soil improvement methods, pest and disease prevention techniques, weather forecasts, and market price information through online registration of agricultural inputs, connection with the National Single Window system for livestock product exports and imports, issuance of plant pest and disease clearance certificates, and applications developed by private companies. Furthermore, it is reported that the Department of Agriculture has established a call center to provide real-time answers to farmers' inquiries.
