Phnom Penh Municipal Prosecutor’s Office announced on the morning of July 2, 2026, that suspect Khun Sola, also known as K01, has been charged with intentional violence, an offense stipulated under Article 217 of the Penal Code. This article prescribes a penalty of imprisonment from one to three years and a fine of 2 million to 6 million Cambodian Riel. The arrest order was issued on June 30, 2026, by Lieutenant General Choun Narinth, Deputy Commissioner General of National Police and Commissioner of Phnom Penh Municipal Police. He directed specialized police officers to apprehend K01 and proceed with legal action. The case stems from allegations that K01 recently used violence against a young man, with the incident captured and shared on Facebook. The suspect was detained after voluntarily appearing at the Light Criminal Offenses Office of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Headquarters on the same morning to provide a statement regarding the alleged assault.
