Vietnam actively promoted its diverse investment opportunities at the 11th Belt & Road Summit held in Hong Kong. The nation particularly highlighted the potential of its coffee industry, which ranks as the world's second-largest exporter and supports approximately 2.6 million jobs. The Vietnamese consulate's booth garnered significant attention with vibrant displays of traditional conical hats painted with Vietnamese landscapes and images of popular destinations like Ha Long Bay, Sa Pa, Hue, and Da Nang. Hong Kong remained Vietnam's fifth-largest foreign investor in 2025, with bilateral trade recording remarkable growth of over 70% that year. Vietnam's exports to Hong Kong surged by more than 90%, making it the third-largest exporter to the market after mainland China and Taiwan. To maximize its seaport advantages, Ho Chi Minh City is developing smart and green ports, promoting clean energy, lower emissions, and sustainable supply chains. This aims to establish an integrated ecosystem linking seaports with industrial parks, logistics centers, free trade zones, multimodal transport networks, and an international financial center. Over the past five years, Vietnam has developed and implemented a green finance system to support low-emission and environmentally friendly production, including in agriculture. Based on directives from the State Bank of Vietnam, banks like BIDV, VCB, HDBank, and Agribank have introduced green credit packages for waste treatment, high-tech agriculture, digital transformation, regional linkages, and emission reduction across production chains. Furthermore, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia Nguyen Tuan Thanh stated that Vietnam and Mongolia should move beyond traditional fields and boldly explore new, long-term areas capable of generating fresh growth momentum under their Comprehensive Partnership framework. New business opportunities are emerging, with confectionery manufacturer MAJAMI seeking distributors for its products in Vietnam, and cosmetics distributor GABONA looking for Vietnamese manufacturers of vegan and natural cosmetics. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung called for stronger digital transformation, including the full digitization of supply chains from manufacturing plants to retail pharmacies through national database systems. Recent statistics show that from January to August, nearly 138,100 businesses were newly established, a 7.7% increase year-on-year. Conversely, over 40,800 businesses completed dissolution procedures, a significant jump of 125.5%. Vietnam also expressed its willingness to continue playing an active role in strengthening international legal frameworks by hosting the 10th UNCITRAL Working Group III intersessional meeting.
