Medical Research: Research papers for effective health treatment

The Department of Medical Research under the Ministry of Health presented and distributed its research reports during 100-day government plan at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. Union Minister Dr. Thet Khaing Win attended the event and gave a speech. The ceremony introduced the publication of the book titled: "Nutritious Values of Myanmar Traditional Food” by the researchers from the Department of Medical Research in collaboration with qualified senior physicians from the Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology. The book could provide knowledge about the nutritional content of daily food consumption, as well as support health workers in providing nutritional education, dietary counseling services, and preventing and controlling malnutrition and non-communicable diseases. This was followed by clarifications on research findings by the resource persons. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health conducted research on the risk of obesity, hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease, nutritional status, health behaviors, and health risks among basic education students at the age of 13 to 17 from regions and states. According to the collected statistics, the Ministry will provide health care services and empower health education collaboration with the health workers, related ministries and organizations.
