NMC flags destructive fishing as 'serious threat' to PH food, livelihood security
The National Maritime Council (NMC) has warned that reported destructive fishing practices in the Philippines pose a serious threat to food and livelihood security, not just the enforcement of fishing laws. The use of explosives, in particular, can cause severe damage to marine ecosystems and undermine the livelihoods of fisherfolk.
