Kim Long Motor to Supply 100 Electric Citybuses to Phuong Trinh Buslines
Vietnam's Kim Long Motor has signed a contract with Phuong Trinh Buslines for the purchase of 100 electric citybuses, signaling a move towards the electrification of public transport in Vietnam.
On July 24, Kim Long Motor Hue Joint Stock Company (Kim Long Motor) and Phuong Trinh Joint Stock Company (Phuong Trinh Buslines) officially signed a contract for the purchase and sale of 100 KimLong branded electric citybuses. Kim Long Motor has been actively pursuing a variety of partnerships in recent years, including building an automotive technology ecosystem with ZF Group and developing a vehicle distribution, logistics, and technology ecosystem with Viettel Post. The company has also engaged in community contributions and brand awareness efforts, such as hosting the international chess tournament "Kim Long Motor Cup." This major contract aligns with the Vietnamese government's environmental protection and sustainable development goals, and is expected to boost the growth of the domestic automotive industry, particularly in the EV sector. Phuong Trinh Buslines is expected to aim for reduced operating costs and environmental impact through the introduction of these electric buses. As Vietnam experiences rapid economic growth, the development of urban transportation infrastructure has become an urgent issue. In particular, the greening of public transportation is a critical policy objective for addressing air pollution, and this contract signifies concrete progress in that area.
