Cambodia Joins International Forum on Peaceful Use of Outer Space

Cambodia participated in the first international summit on outer space development, held in Paris, France, from September 9-10, 2026, in collaboration with the Federal Republic of Germany. The summit was attended by a representative, H.E. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, upon the invitation of H.E. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, representing the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, H.E. Hun Manet. The summit brought together over 2,000 participants, including heads of state, heads of government, ministers responsible for space affairs from over 90 countries, representatives of international organizations, and the private sector. The primary objective of this summit was to jointly declare the aspiration for the peaceful and sustainable use of outer space amidst increasing competition for economic and strategic goals among nations worldwide. During the summit, Cambodia also provided its endorsement for three declarations initiated by the French Republic. Additionally, H.E. Minister Chea Vandeth held separate courtesy meetings with H.E.
