Vietnamese Leaders Welcome Cambodian National Assembly President

Vietnamese top leaders welcomed President of the Cambodian National Assembly Samdech Khuon Sudary in Hanoi on July 28. Party General Secretary and State President To Lam hosted a reception for the Cambodian top legislator, discussing further development of the friendly cooperative relations between the two countries. On the same day, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung also met and held talks with the Cambodian National Assembly President, focusing on deepening bilateral ties. These meetings highlight Vietnam's emphasis on regional stability and cooperation as a key ASEAN member. Cambodia is a historically and geographically significant neighbor for Vietnam, and close bilateral relations are crucial for Vietnam to maintain and expand its regional influence. While Vietnam continues its economic growth under a one-party system, it faces geopolitical challenges, including relations with China and the South China Sea issue. Strengthening cooperation with neighboring countries is thus a strategic move to address these challenges.
