Woman Driver Found Dead After Car Swept Away by Floodwaters in Dong Nai

The body of a 46-year-old female driver, Tran Thi Bich Lien, who was swept away with her car by floodwaters in Dong Nai province, was found on the morning of September 24th, following a two-day search operation. Her body was discovered in Xa Cat Lake, approximately 300 meters from where her car was submerged. The incident occurred on the afternoon of September 22nd, when Ms. Lien was driving her car amidst heavy rainfall. Near the So Nhi dam in Xa Cam area, along Su Van Hanh street, strong currents from upstream swept her vehicle into Xa Cat Lake. Witnesses attempted to rescue her but were unsuccessful. Authorities mobilized hundreds of personnel, including firefighters, militia, and local residents, utilizing drones to aid the search. However, the heavy rain and the vast expanse of the lake posed significant challenges to the rescue efforts. Authorities are currently continuing their search for the submerged vehicle and preparing for its retrieval.
