The Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) announced its Top 20 enterprises for the 2026 Vietnam Sustainability Index (VNSI), with Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) being selected, the bank announced on August 4. ACB demonstrated sustained growth and efficiency by recording a net profit exceeding VND 10.7 trillion (approximately USD 420 million) in the first half of 2026. This confirms the bank's commitment to maintaining a solid growth foundation. Furthermore, the international rating agency Moody's upgraded ACB's credit rating outlook to 'positive,' indicating increased confidence in the bank's financial health and future prospects. ACB also organized a series of community-oriented events to celebrate its 33rd anniversary. The bank is also focusing on social contributions, such as partnering with VNPAY to implement digital tax payment solutions to support taxpayers. The selection into the VNSI signifies that ACB is highly regarded not only for its economic performance but also from a sustainability perspective, including Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the government emphasizes environmental protection and social welfare alongside economic growth, and indices like the VNSI play a role in encouraging corporate ESG initiatives. In particular, with the complex relationship with China, the stability and growth of the Vietnamese economy are crucial for revitalizing domestic corporate activities, and the sound management of major financial institutions like ACB can be seen as supporting this foundation.
