Sittang River water level exceeds warning level in Madauk City

The water level of the Sittang River in Madauk City has exceeded the city's warning level by 0.5 feet, the Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology announced. According to measurements taken at 6:30 AM on July 19, the water level has surpassed the warning level by 0.5 feet. It is expected to decrease by approximately 3 inches within the next 24 hours, but it may continue to remain above the city's warning level. Therefore, the Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a warning urging residents living near the riverbanks and in low-lying areas of Madauk City to evacuate to safe locations to avoid flood damage.
