State Parliament Speaker U Thet Htwe elected as Mon State USDP Chairman

It is known that U Thet Htwe, the Speaker of the State Parliament, has been elected as the Chairman of the Mon State United Solidarity and Development Party (USDP). At the re-election of the State Committee members held on September 14th in the meeting hall of the USDP State Office in Mawlamyine City, U Thet Htwe, who is the Speaker of the State Parliament, was elected as the Chairman of the Mon State USDP. Similarly, it is also known that U Myo Min Hlaing, the Minister for Burman Ethnic Affairs and a member of the State Government, was elected as the Secretary of the Mon State USDP. Party members and supporters of the State USDP attended the meeting, and from the 40 nominees for the State Committee members, 15 State Executive Committee members and 15 Alternate Executive Committee members were elected. According to a person close to the party, among the 15 State Committee members, U Tin Zaw Htun, the Minister for Social Affairs and a member of the State Government, U Kyaw Kyaw Lin (alias Htin Lin), the National Parliament representative for Mawlamyine/Chaungzon, Daw Zin Thwe Win, and Daw Nwe Ni Win have joined as new State Committee members. He further stated, "The State Executive Committee members were freely elected by the attendees of the meeting." It is also reported that U Aung Kyaw Thein, the former Chairman of the State USDP and former Chief Minister, will not be rejoining as a State Executive Committee member and will continue to remain as a party member. It is also known that U Thet Htwe, who has been elected as the Chairman of the Mon State USDP, will also be appointed as a Central Executive Committee member of the party.
